University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa
The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) started as the Tarkwa Technical Institute (TTI) on 3rd November, 1952 but was officially commissioned by the Government of Ghana, more precisely by His Excellency the Governor of the Gold Coast, Sir Charles Noble Arden Clarke, on 7th October, 1953. In 1961, the Government, upon the advocacy of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, redefined the mission of TTI .

SALE OF APPLICATION FORMS FOR ADMISSION
It is announced for the information of prospective applicants that application forms for admission to programmes in the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa for the 2010/2011 academic year are on sale.
The cost of one application form for admission (to be purchased by cash) is Fifty Ghana Cedis (GH¢50.00) or Fifty US dollars (US$50.00). A brochure of guidelines and admission requirements for the various programmes and prepaid EMS envelopes are inclusive.
Applicants are allowed to purchase and submit only one form. Those who submit more than one completed application form for admission shall be disqualified.
The application forms for admission can be purchased at the following places:
