Madurai Kamaraj University PG Admission 2025 – Applications are to be submitted online for admission to the following 2 year programmes offered by the Schools/ Departments of the University for the academic year 2025-20

Eligibility Criteria for Madurai Kamaraj University PG Admission 2025

  • Candidates should have studied under 10+2+3 pattern.
  • Candidates who are undergoing the VI Semester/III year (Non-Semester) of the U.G programme are eligible to apply for the P.G. Programmes.
  • The candidates should have successfully completed the U.G. programme at the time of admission.

M.Sc. Genomics

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics or equivalent), Physical and Chemical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry), Medicine, Veterinary and Agriculture from any recognized Indian or Foreign University are eligible to apply.
  • Students with B.Tech. Degrees in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology and Bioinformatics with Biology at +2 levels are also eligible.

Note: A minimum of 40% seats will be allocated to candidates from outside Tamil nadu State (Residence and Institution). 
M.Sc. Microbiology

  • A Bachelor’s degree in science programmes where Biological Sciences-Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, etc. is either a Major or an Ancillary subject. Students from professional programmes such as B.Pharma, B.Sc.(Agriculture) and related subjects from a recognized Indian or Foreign University are also eligible.

M.Sc. Biochemistry

  • B.Sc. Degree with Biochemistry/Nutrition and Dietetics/Microbiology/Biology/Botany/Zoology/Chemistry/Physics/Agriculture as major subjects.

M.Sc. Biotechnology

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant areas of Life Sciences/Zoology/Botany/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Chemical Science (allied with any Biology subject/ B.Tech, Bio-tech with minimum of 55% of marks in UG Degree.

M.Sc. Marine Biology

  • B.Sc in any branch of Life Sciences (Biology/Biochemistry/Botany/Zoology/Marine Biology/Microbiology/Biotechnology or equivalent of a recognized Indian or Foreign University). Candidates should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in the subject (Part III) and 50% marks for SC, ST Categories.

M.Sc. Earth Remote Sensing and Geo-Information Technology

  • A pass in B.A. Geography, B.Sc. degree in any subject/B.E/BTech/B.Arch/Bachelor of Town and Country planning with 50% of total marks in Part III.

M.B.A. (Residential Programme)

  • A Pass in any Bachelor’s degree.

M.B.A. Hospital Administration

  • A Pass in any Bachelor’s degree.

M.C.A.

  • Any Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PH) with Mathematics as one of the main subject at 10+2 or any graduation level from a recognized University.

Selection Process

  • The selection for all admission is based on Entrance test.
  • The list of selected and waitlisted candidates will be published in the University website and displayed on the Notice Board of the respective School/Department.

Details of Entrance Test

  • Applicants seeking admission for the programmes are required to appear for the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University.
  • The Entrance Test will be of objective type for a period of 100 minutes.
  • Mere appearance for the entrance examination does not mean that the candidate is eligible for admission.

  • Applicants are requested to read carefully the rules of eligibility and other instructions given in the prospectus.
  • Applicants who are willing to apply for more than one programme should apply separately for each programme.
  • Registration Fee of Rs.600/- has to be paid for all the PG Programmes Selection Procedure
